Built by a Player.
Engineered for Everyone.
The story behind SolvePLO — why it exists, how it works, and what we believe.
The Story
I built SolvePLO because the PLO study landscape frustrated me.
I play PLO. I've played PLO for years. Like most serious players, I wanted to study GTO strategy — to understand what the solver says about the spots I play, so I could make better decisions at the table. But the options available were either too expensive, too limited, or too slow.
The gold-standard tool costs over $200 a month. That's reasonable if you're a PLO2000 regular clearing $15K+ a month. It's not reasonable if you're grinding PLO100 or PLO200, where $200/month is a meaningful chunk of your winrate. And at PLO50 or below, it's simply not justifiable.
I could run my own MonkerSolver simulations, but that requires days of compute time per sim on expensive hardware. I could use cheaper tools, but they covered a fraction of the boards I actually needed.
So I decided to build what I wanted: a tool with complete board coverage, instant results, and a price that makes sense for the stakes most players actually play.
The Technical Achievement
SolvePLO exists because of a specific technical achievement: I reverse-engineered MonkerSolver's proprietary binary format.
MonkerSolver is the most respected PLO solver engine in the world. It produces deeply accurate GTO solutions — but it outputs them in an undocumented, compressed binary format (.mkr files) that's designed to be read only by MonkerSolver's own software.
I spent months decoding that format. Byte by byte, I mapped the encoding scheme for strategy frequencies, the card indexing system, the action ordering, the DFS tree structure, and the compression layers. I wrote a complete parser that can read any MonkerSolver output and extract the full strategy data — preflop through river, every hand combination, every action frequency.
Then I precomputed solutions for all 1,755 isomorphic flop textures and built a web application to serve them.
The Mission
Democratize PLO GTO strategy.
The best solver data in PLO shouldn't be locked behind a $200/month paywall. It shouldn't require a $3,000 desktop running simulations for days. It shouldn't be limited to 420 board textures when 1,755 exist.
Every serious PLO player deserves access to complete, accurate, precomputed GTO solutions at a price they can afford. That's what SolvePLO provides.
We charge $60/month for Core — enough to sustain the product and continue building, but affordable for players at every stake level. And the free tier ensures you can always try before you buy.
Our Values
Accuracy
Every strategy in SolvePLO comes directly from MonkerSolver output. We don't estimate, interpolate, or approximate. The data is real solver output, parsed and served exactly as computed. When we say "GTO," we mean it.
Speed
All solutions are precomputed. When you select a board, the strategy loads in milliseconds. Your study time should be spent studying, not waiting for a progress bar.
Accessibility
SolvePLO works in any modern browser on any device. No downloads, no installations, no Windows-only desktop software. Open a tab and start studying.
Fairness
PLO strategy tools have been overpriced for too long. Complete board coverage and quality GTO data are not luxuries — they're the baseline of serious study. We priced SolvePLO so that any player committed to improving can afford it.
